Wild Rose - 06/03/2003

(Bramatha Hot Chocolate x Lady Bronte)

Wild Rose Clarissa is a classy girl in the Bramatha kennel.

She was bred by Mrs. Stephens from her bitch Lady Bronte, who was sired by my dog Master Master (George). Clarissa’s father was my liver dog Bramatha Hot Chocolate (Baba). Clarissa came home to Bramatha in lieu of a stud fee, just as her grandfather Master Master (George) had done a few years before. Although being bred by Mrs. Stephens Clarissa is three quarters Bramatha! Clarissa is a very workman like bitch of medium size, showing raciness without weediness. She has probably one of the nicest typical heads with an excellent dark eye, of correct shape and a kind expression. She has a good reach of neck into a well defined brisket. Her movement is good. Her bone is adequate. I would prefer a better tail set, although her hind quarters are good with a nice turn of stifle. In profile she is a very stylish mover. She has only ever been shown at a few shows, but each time has done incredibly well and been very consistent, only once out of the prize cards. She has been shown at Crufts and been placed in her class. She is qualified for Crufts 2008. Clarissa has been out shooting with me, as part of my picking up team. For the little training I have done with her, she is outstanding! She will hunt the ground well and does not give up easily. She is very willing to please and is very easy to live with. She loves my son Robert and is incredibly gentle with him. Clarissa had a litter in June 2006 to my dog Bramatha Back to the Future (Dennis) and there were 10 puppies. Of these one bitch, Bramatha Hot Inspiration, is qualified for Crufts, another dog, Bramatha Hot Toddy was best flatcoat puppy at a show a few weeks ago, a sister, Bramatha Hot Love was awarded an “Excellent” qualification at the Swedish Club Show in May and these are the only three that have been shown, so I am delighted with their results. Several of the others are coming on well with their gundog training. Clarissa was a fantastic mother with this litter rearing them all. All the owners of the puppies seem very happy and delighted with how easily they settled into their new homes and have progressed with their general training.
